Baden-Baden

There is probably no spa more famous or fashionable than Baden-Baden, also the site of the country’s most celebrated casino. Deluxe hotels are a short walk from the opulent Kurhaus, a center for the rituals of curative waters and bath treatments from thermal to Roman-Irish. Other attractions include the country’s most celebrated spa, an in-residence orchestra, golf, tennis and horseback riding, and many sightseeing attractions around the Black Forest.

Bad Reichenhall

Many spa-lovers head for this remote corner of the Bavarian Alps to “take the waters,” particularly guests looking for treatment of asthma and other respiratory problems, skin ailments and rheumatism. The cures come from salt and brine treatments, offered almost always in the morning at the seven resort institutes.

Vogtland Spas

Located in Bad Brambach and Bad Elster, both spa resorts offer a gym, massage, therapeutic drinking cures, mud and steam baths, as well as medicinal attention. Sports such as hiking, jogging and horseback riding fold easily into the fitness and relaxation options.

Heiligendamm

Bad Griesbach

Located near the beautiful Bavarian Forest, this health and vacation resort offers pure relaxation and recreation. Guests are offered a variety of natural treatments enhancing health, beauty and self-esteem, and during one’s stay, activites include hiking, biking, golf and tennis.
